But...but...I thought you said Trump wasn’t facing anything that every president in history—excepting Washington’s first term—hadn’t faced.

In a word, No.
But beyond that, it is now beyond dispute that those of us with long memories now are the only reliable version of history possible; all else is not just suspect, but usually demonstrably false.
So we must all live in our private bubble of reality and ignore the babble.

It is truly a swamp. The left has been planning and working for over 100 years to take down the USA. To see their plans frustrated once again is driving them mad, but it has only strengthened their resolve to succeed. Believe it and recite every day, “Freedom requires eternal vigilance.”
Good article, but the author is way too optimistic when he writes “Trump has managed to neutralize the Alt State.”
We thought we had defeated communism in the 90s. It’s back in many more forms than ever and a greater fraction of the populace has bought into its evil charms. Same with the Alt State. It will take a generation to root it completely out and destroy it. I am reminded of what Winston Churchill famously said:
“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
I would,however, adjust Churchill’s quote to “It is a good beginning to the beginning.”
The media was never going to like Trump, but nobody else has gone out of his way to alienate the press like the President has. So why the surprise? What's the old expression, don't pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel?
Bear this in mind, especially if Trump wins a second term: The hate from the left will never let up. President Trump will not have a single day in his presidency where he is not under attack. There will not be a single day in which the U.S. media are not trying to undermine him or render him ineffective. Finally, there will not be a single day in which a significant percentage of his own supporters criticize him for not getting things done fast enough.
Despite all this, Trump continues to love his country and put all his effort into making it a better place for all.
We are fortunate to have him as president. The total destruction of our nation has been averted - or at least delayed. All by one man. Imagine what we could achieve if more of us got behind him.
