The former Starbucks manager who called the police on two non-paying black customers earlier this month may have a good case for bringing a defamation suit against the coffee company.
In numerous public statements, Starbucks and its CEO Kevin Johnson have gone out of their way to imply that the the female manager, identified in media reports as Holly Hylton, was acting on subconscious racial motivations when she told the loitering customers to either buy a beverage or get out of her store. Crucially, Starbucks has also strongly implied that, as a factual matter, the manager violated company policy.
This whole starbucks thing is media driven crap. had these men been white No one would have ever heard of it. And if they did, people would have said they deserved what they got.
Against STARBUCKS? I hope shes about to be a BILLIONaire.
That’s all they need is one employee to say that she’s admitted to being “uncomfortabe” around black people (as the article states) and her case is null and void.
I’m guessing that won’t be hard for Starbucks to do.
I had heard that this manager was actually liberal in her own personal views.
Reminds me a bit, of the policeman in the case where Obama said police acted stupidly. That policeman actually condicted diversity trainings for police officers.
So even if you think you are up in the latest diversity issues and all that, you can still be charged with racism and bigotry. What a crazy world this has evolved into. Or should I say we have devolved on these issues.
I would be shocked if Starbucks did not give her a nice “severance” package with an NDA. It’s over and they can continue virtue signaling.
My guess is that Starbucks figured it would be cheaper to throw her under the bus and get the media kudos than not to do so.
Even if they have to pay her a million.
I think they made the right decision, given the current environment.
“So even if you think you are up in the latest diversity issues and all that, you can still be charged with racism and bigotry. What a crazy world this has evolved into.”
Yep, once you’re able to further their cause, they could care less about your beliefs or past. You’re then simply a USEFUL IDIOT for the left.

Devolved definitely. Innocent until proven guilty has completely vanished. A white person in the public eye, accused of racism today, probably has a harder time proving their innocence than someone accused of being a witch in the 1600s.
Starbucks stores have become a "Free" office space for millions of people. Every day, thousands of job interviews are held in their stores, in addition to meetings and thousands more who bring their laptop and work there using the free wifi. Starbucks welcomes this, as these people are their customers. They buy coffee and food. If they are just using the free office space, restrooms and wifi without purchasing anything, Starbucks can and should ask them to make a purchase or leave. It's like eating the free breakfast at a hotel when you are not staying there. Not really hard to understand.
Someone emailed the Ben Shapiro show saying that he frequents that location and sort of knows the manager. He said he always took her for a SJW liberal.
In my SoCal suburb lots of folks of a wide variety of races, ages sit in Starbucks. Without making purchases.
I would like to see the managers’ manuals for policies, and procedures concerning such “customers,” etc.
One might expect in this day of “journalism,” a reporter could get a manager to speak anonymously away from the workplace.
Reporter: “What is the company policy about non-buying “customers?”
Off duty SB manager: “We are told to not hassle them. They make it seem busy, and besides, they might resist if told to leave.”
Reporter: “Resist about what?”
Off duty SB manager: “Well if they are crazy we don’t know how to handle that. And if they are racial minorities, they might being unwanted attention.”
Reporter: “Do you have any of that, in writing?”
Right, no point in standing up for what is right, just rollover and submit.
They’re Liberals, Leftists really, my good man.
That’s what they do, and that’s how I came to the conclusion I did.
Is she hott?
Starbucks needs to go away. Add it to my list...

Oh, never mind.
The manager was likely given a severance package that precludes legal action when she and Starbucks mutually agreed to part ways.
Maybe now she can find work at some French restaurant where disrespecting customers is viewed as a positive cultural attribute.
Meanwhile, kudos to the two gentlemen who were arrested for NOT turning this incident into the circus that social media wants it to be.
Gangs could show up in Starbucks and take over the place without buying anything.
What’s a Starbucks????
Even gas chains like Sheetz and Kwik Trip puts their coffee to shame.
