I’ve kept up closely with this whole matter. This suit boils down to the basic allegation that the Trump campaign, the Russian government, and Wikileaks conspired to have the Russian intelligence services hack the DNC, transfer the hacked emails to Wikileaks, and have Wiki publish them, thereby damaging the Witch’s campaign. So far there only appear to be two pieces of “evidence” to support this:
1) the DNC-commissioned Crowdstrike evaluation of the DNC servers that purports to have found “proof of Russian hacking” and
2) one or more statements in Steel Dossier that that say the Russians hacked the DNC.
The problems with 1) is are that the DNC refused to let the FBI examine its servers, Crowdstrike was the DNC’s contractor, Assange has denied the Russians provided the information, and the only present outside analysis that’s been done concluded the data transfer rates were so high that the extractions could only have been done internally. Item 2), the Steele Dossier, is even worse because its allegations are inadmissible third hand hearsay, at best.
In short that leaves the DNC with zero, zip, nada evidence to support this suit.
I am not sure how extensive Crowdstrike's relationship was with the DNC. They came in to review how Bernie's people got access to one of Hillary's databases and then again for the DNC hack. There was a second IT firm with offices in Chicago and Washington that also worked for the DNC. I think they managed some aspect of their IT infrastructure..
The DNC knows that the Russians did not hack them and give the emails to Wikileaks. They wouldn’t have bothered to kill Seth Rich if that were the case.
