Attorney General Jeff Sessions informed the White House that he may resign from his post in the event that President Trump fires Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to a new report.
Sessions notified White House counsel Don McGahn of this during a phone call last weekend, sources told the Washington Post.
During the phone call, Sessions sought information about a meeting between Trump and Rosenstein and was relieved to hear that the meeting was primarily pleasant, and mentioned that he would have to weigh resigning if Trump fired Rosenstein, a person familiar with the call told the Post.

I had mentioned several times this could be real. I dunno, we’ll see. If so, it could be imminent something is going give soon regarding Sessions.

Sessions, a true blue and longstanding real conservative, was the first Senator to endorse Trump. He was enthusiastic and always loyal to him. As usual, Trump returns that loyalty and respect with scorn and derision. Like the story at the link about Cohen, no loyalist to Trump is treated with loyalty in return.
Sessions & Rosenstein hid the Comey memos for a year while POTUS and his agenda were brutalized by innuendo about them. How does that spell loyalty? Are you off your meds?
No, Rudy has said several times long ago that he does NOT want to be AG. He has his own consulting business in the private sector and he likes it that way.
It’s a shame , I was hoping Jeff Sessions would be as pro-active as our great President Donald John Trump is , but he is obviously tainted from being in the muck/swamp for so long and is inhibited in doing his job.
We are to BELIEVE this as gospel... from “anonymous” sources? How about something else that it probably is.... red meat “sourced” to yet ANOTHER leaker in DOJ.... a friend of Rosenstein or even Rosenstein himself, trying to save his ruddy last of the Three Amigos, job. (Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein— as the Three Amigos have been so-called). think about this. Meanwhile pedo-gate and indictments proceeds and closes in on majors of the demonrats... leadership. Many different investigations.
The timeline of the sealed indictments,on many federal charges coming down from Huber ‘s work since last November, and the several desperate gambits from the failed deep state effort not “getting” Trump— coincides with sealed indictments being decided by the many Grand Jury’s (who are NOT leaking, btw).
The Deep State servant Sessions is apparently now into VIRTUE SIGNALING. Who knows, maybe it will be #METOO next for the little guy.

If this story about Sessions is fake news, why would Trump, Sessions or the WH not correct the record? What would be gained by allowing such a slanderous lie to remain unchallenged?

We know absolutely nothing about the sealed indictments, but we are NOT hearing from many of the indictees, all of whom have lawyered up. think about it.
The mills of Justice grind slowly. Apparently too slowly for “point and click” mobile phone app “reality” types. this is serious stuff. Pray they are convicted and sent to Gitmo- fitting justice.
Rosenstein signed the illegal FISA warrant. The purpose of the illegal FISA warrant was to destroy Trump and ensure a Hillary victory. But in order to secure the wiretaps of Trump’s campaign, Rosenstein had to present wholesale lies to the FISA judge and confirm that these monstrous lies were actually the truth.
Rosenstein is a dirty anti-Trump liar. After conferring with Trump re the Mueller witch hunt, Joe DiGenova said this:
“Comey is dirty, Rosentein is compromised. Jeff Sessions has a duty to fire Rosenstein NOW... It’s HIS job, not Trump’s”
Now there appears in the WaPo a grotesque threat/slander attributed to Sessions, that if Rosenstein is fired he may have to leave too. And all you Sessions defenders claim that nobody connected to Trump or Sessions has the time or integrity to correct the record.
It’s a 100% irrational position. It’s self-contradictory. It makes sense only to people who eschew facts and evidence.
If there is fake news out about someone in the Trump administration, Trump would not let it rest.

Exactly. Trump’s tweets are not time consuming. That’s part of why he does it—because it’s a quick and efficient way of bypassing the media and speaking directly to his supporters.
There is no cogent or rational reason Trump wouldn’t slap the WaPo around if they’d printed yet another fake news story. Not only does Trump appear to enjoy mocking WaPo, but his correction-tweets also serve to undermine the reputation and perceived reliability of his critics. Trump would not miss another big opportunity to further denigrate/embarrass his most rabid detractors.
