Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and Obama. None have been able to achieve this in 67 years. And, a non politician shows them how it is done.
Did we even recognize North Korea as a country? I can understand it on one hand, but it always seemed to me that it doesn’t help much in solving a conflict. No meetings, no negotiations, etc. I don’t know - perhaps others have met with the Norks (other than Dennis Rodman). But - as you said, one of many benefits of having a non-politician in office.

However, as I’ve posted elsewhere, I think Kim ran out of nukes and/or lost the capability/money to build/buy them. Most of his army is probably also now mixing dirt with their grass to fill their tummies. Giving up his nukes and wanting to play nice might just allow him to get food into the country and may save his sorry butt.
