FRESNO, Calif. -- A Fresno State lecturer who says he was demoted after posting a tweet that Donald Trump "must hang" says the university president is again failing to defend academic freedom -- this time over a professor who called former first lady Barbara Bush an "amazing racist." In an opinion piece posted Thursday by The Fresno Bee, Lars Maischak says university President Joseph Castro is siding with attackers of English professor Randa Jarrar instead of standing up to the "fascist threat to academic freedom."

What they are failing to defend is stupidity.
I don’t see how the comments weren’t all related to academics. They were in extremely poor taste and reflect poorly upon the school. Is the “professor” acting as the university’s official spokesman?

These commie-fascist totalitarian socialist professors are lying sacks of bull droppings. Their definition of freedom is the opposite of freedom and liberty. A lot of these colleges don’t teach anything worthwhile, so it would not be sad if many of them went bankrupt and shut down.

Interesting way to describe a person. Must mean the ugly-a$$ bag who expressed her hate for Barbara Bush and wasn’t fired, and who will find fame and fortune waiting for her because of her hate for good people.
I’m embarrassed that I attended that silly school for 1 semester and that many of my forebears graduated from there.
I wonder how much”academic freedom” Maischak gives to his conservative students who disagree with his leftist rantings in class.
Which goes to show how much the country (in general) is devolving.
Fresno / the central valley of CA, used to be pretty conservative...even just 10 years ago. It still is overall, but is slipping due to mass immigration (illegal & legal).
In the same light, Fresno State used to be fairly conservative...as universities go anyway.
Seems like conservatism is getting squeezed to fewer and fewer pockets around the country.
