I don't even remember the context, but I think whenever she dropped her "Why aren't I ahead by 50 points...??" comment, she knew through her internal polling, she was going to lose.
I think her only purpose now is to make a certain portion of the American electorate feel bad that they didn't vote for a woman when they had the chance. It's irrelevant whether or not she was qualified, or whether people trusted her; her goal now is to make these would-be woman voters feel remorseful, and ensure they vote for the female candidate next time.
If she had been as calm about her loss as the article lies to make us believe she would have given a concession speech that night.
