Californians likely will vote in November on a long-shot referendum to split their giant state into three a measure that, while standing little chance of success, would represent a political gift to Democrats.
Such a California breakup would upset the political balance in the Senate if it actually happened, and hurt the GOP.
According to a Fox News analysis of county-level voting data, splitting California as outlined would create two solid blue states and one leaning blue state. That could very well mean four extra Senate seats for Democrats plus four more electoral votes in presidential elections.
So is there an ulterior motive to this otherwise quirky referendum campaign?

Of course. It's a Democrat plan. The point of the plan isn't to create a new red state, but to make two more blue ones.
Even if your plan is "better," they're not going to split up the state and leave Los Angeles and San Francisco in the same state.
Northern California isn't really Republican. The coastal counties all go Democrat, and they have more people than the inland counties. Sacramento alone would outvote the inland Republican counties several times.
NO, better yet consolidate the 6 New England states into one state with 2 senators!
Isn’t that a picture of the Two State Solution, California and Commiefornia?
Metastasizing a cancer.
They should not rush into this. Instead, wait until the Israelis and Palestinians work out their two-state solution, and then have some Israelis and Palestinians come over and advise them on how to do it.

It is a movement backed by a Russian, Alexandr V. Ionov, who also backs a pan-African group of mostly woke honkies out of St. Petersburg, Florida called the Uhuru House. They have a group in Oakland California as well. And Atlanta.
