Gorsuch is more libertarian than Scalia. I reference the Raich decision for an example where Thomas disagreed with Scalia. I can see Gorsuch aligning with Thomas on that decision. If you have not read Thomas' dissent on Raich, I strongly suggest you do such.

Bingo. The law is vague and Gorsuch came down on the side of the individual and against the government.

This is not a partisan issue. The deportation was ordered by Obama.

Gorsuch indeed may be libertarian, but Thomas is not. We do not know Gorsuch at this point and I base my opinion on his mentors and apparent adoption of new natural law which is problematic IMO.
