If your Doc told you that he is a fool or is already in hot water with the DEA for being an idiot. Legitimate need makes it obvious you arent an abuser.

Your team could have done better for you. It took close to 3 times that just before and right after surgery, then the switch to ZOhydro just to keep the lightning from shooting out of my eyeballs! I am completely sorry that they didnt accommodate you properly.

Im tapering down now and am down to 1/2 pills of the 5mg 3 or 4 times a day and getting less. Im about ready to throw them in the trash and take the withdrawals that are left.

I’ve never liked the buzz from any opiods. Going on 15 years of being misdiagnosed with everything under the sun, I have been on quite a few. They all suck! (THAT Zohydro, WOW. If any of them will hook you its that one!) They work great for acute pain relief, but they aint worth crap after that. I praise the Lord he has blessed me with the repulsion of them.

I’m not one to get aDDicted to them- or be bothered by the addiction i should say- when I’m ready to get off them i just grit my teeth and do it- was on hydrocodone for 3 years- quit that cold turkey along with cigarettes at the same time- wasn’t too hard really- I think though because i was on them for 3 years- the medical profession has me down as a ‘drug seeker’ (even though i stopped taking them on my own- and have had numerous surgeries where I was prescribed them for weeks and stopped them as well when the time came)

I don’t mind the buzz when I’m needing it like right after surgery- but a week or so out, I get to where i don’t like it either- rather be in control of my mind than have drugs or alcohol stunt it- but for surgeries I say bring it on- them ore the better- (especially abdominal surgeries- Zowie those are rough to deal with)

It used to be you’d tell the doc you were in pain and they’d just automatically prescribe them for you- but today you almost have to beg- even right after surgery- I like to go about 2-3 weeks on them for most surgeries- then I don’t care to be on them any more- but that 2-3 weeks is usually enough time to get you through it comfortably numb
