They are way overstepping their bounds.

It’s not their place to set policy and legislate from the bench.

This “judge” is totally out of line.

I wouldn’t worry that much about it, just yet. Judges may decide only the issue placed in front of them in the lawsuit. Anything they write beyond the scope of the facts before them is considered dicta: interesting but not binding. Nor is the judge’s words any real indication of the thoughts of fellow judges.

That is my understanding of the job of judges, too.

She sounds like a 9th Circuit Ct judge. Bad on her.
