Reminds me of the judicial system of the Third Reich. They had plenty of "scholarly" and "educated" judges, each with a lot of diplomas and wall paper. They had industrious clerks, stenographers and barristers to ensure that all proceedings were "legal" and according to the correct procedures of law.
Superficially it all appeared to be according to Hoyle. And the Reich's equivalent of the WaPo and NYT never noticed any funny business.
That's what we have now—a tainted judiciary who know how to dot 'i's and cross the 't's but nonetheless remain just as agenda driven and beyond equity as their unsavory soul mates of the 1930s.
