John Milius

Remember the amazing scene in Jaws where the old Scottish-American fisherman describes in harrowing detail the plight of the men in the water after the sinking of the USS Indianapolis..?

You know, how they got EATEN by sharks over the course of 3 days..?

"A shark has dead eyes, like a doll...I pushed over my buddy in his lifering, and there he was --no legs. He'd been bitten in half..."

John Milius, a rare right-thinking Hollywood guy, wrote all that.

He was once almost as big a name as Steven Speilberg, etc.

AND THEN he wrote, "Red Dawn". He was so enthusiastic about the project that he paid for the whole film.

Hollywood couldn't brook someone warning America about the Soviets; they totally destroyed him. NO ONE would pick up his scripts or do any project they knew would carry his name in the credits.

The only way he could later afford tuition for his law school son was that one of his former colleagues took mercy and simply GAVE him the money.

He was destroyed.

REMEMBER THAT next time the Hollywood commies start whining for the millionth time about the Committee on Un-American Activities, and how they are all such persecuted HEROES.
