Well.....lets talk about tectonic plate movement. As the polar caps melt, it actually ADDS water weight to the surface of the planet. 1 gallon=8lbs. Do the math if 30 million cubic feet of ice melt adds to the ocean.
If you haven't noticed quake activity is up over the last 10 years or so coinciding with the 'warming' scare.
This happens every few thousand years when the plates move a lot due to water weight and a number of larger earthquakes occur. With these there is also a lot of volcanic activity because the quakes release energy to help volcanic activity, this in turn produces a lot of ash and smoke in the atmosphere that keeps the sun from warming the planet, hence global 'cooling' and the atmosphere regulates itself again.

As the polar caps melt, it actually ADDS water weight to the surface of the planet. Ummmm... you actually think that the ice weighs nothing and when it melts, the weight suddenly appears?
(The density of ice is slightly lower, which is why it floats... but the mass of water is not greater than that of ice... it merely occupies a slightly different volume of space. Density = mass / volume.)
