Where did anybody get the fantastical notion that Germany is an ally of the US? Oh sure they’ve been quite happy to have Uncle Sugar provide for their defense but what exactly have they ever done to help the US in return? The most anybody can come up with is a token deployment here or there in which they did no actual fighting.

Meanwhile they were only too happy to gorge themselves on Saddam’s blood money, happy to profit from the Iranian Ayatollahs for decades, and actively work to undermine any strong stand by the West against Russia because they want Russian gas. Schroeder was more than happy to try to whip up anti-Americanism during the second Persian Gulf War to try to unite Europe under Franco-German hegemony. Even today they are trying to twist the arms of other EU countries to take in some of the Muslim hordes they invited in and who have been such a headache for them.

With “allies” like that, we certainly don’t need any enemies.

Don't forget that it was the Germans who provided Lenin with safe passage from Switzerland to Russia, along with substantial financing. During the Weimar Republic, Germany cooperated with the Soviet Union, which allowed German pilots to train there, bypassing the restrictions placed on the German military by the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was a major trade partner with the Bolshevik state. Despite Hitler's anti-Communist rhetoric and the persecution of domestic Communists and Socialists by his regime, German-Soviet military cooperation continued even after the rise of the Third Reich. Remember that the Soviets joined with the Germans in the dismemberment of Poland.
