Greek officials announced on Thursday that a Hellenic Air Force Mirage 2000-5 fighter jet crashed in the Aegean Sea, near the island of Skyros. The pilot, identified by the HAF as 33-year-old Capt. Giorgos Baltadoros, was returning from an aerial policing mission where he intercepted two Turkish Air Force F-16s.

"The mission had finished and it had been on its way back with another Greek plane," a Greek official told the New York Times. Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos said that Baltadoros was a "hero who fell defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity."

It is not known exactly what caused the Greek fighter jet to crash, but AFP reported that "the pilot may have blacked out during a combat exercise on the return home." Turkish state-run news agency Anadolu quoted Turkish officials saying that there were no Turkish forces in the area.

Maybe Greece needs new friends.

While I dismiss all Europeans equally, I objectively see Greeks as worthwhile, and in a utopian world, new friends would be great, but what Greece needs are Greek Interests, not Greek Friends.

And this applies to Greeks themselves, internally, they need to promote Greek Interests, what better way to bring Greece back and piss off the Euro Globalist "Friends" Greece has now?

Likewise, America needs new friends.

Turkey and Greece have always been hostile.

Unavoidably true.

It would be nice to imagine a return of Ionia to Greece and the re-establishment of Christianity in the Hagia Sophia, but Greece has been wallowing in decadence since the fall of Athens in 404 B.C. and can't be trusted.

Unfortunately, true.

The Greeks are the ones that can, and have to, fix this if it is to be fixed. I posted the following to grania regarding "Friends" of Greece:

"While I dismiss all Europeans equally, I objectively see Greeks as worthwhile, and in a utopian world, new friends would be great, but what Greece needs are Greek Interests, not Greek Friends."

"And this applies to Greeks themselves, internally, they need to promote Greek Interests, what better way to bring Greece back and piss off the Euro Globalist "Friends" Greece has now?"

I made the observations as an eternal Grecophile! I love Greece. However, the impetus for ascendancy can only come from within a population. Greece (apparently) doesn’t have it. The USA is rapidly losing it. Once it’s gone, it might never be recoverable.
