I am conflicted on the Syria missile attack.

I really think more proof should have been presented on the initial chemical attack being done by Assad’s forces.

I am suspicious in the light of just last week Pres. Trump said he was going to pull us out of Syria now that ISIS has been destroyed. In this regard, at least I know Pres. Trump isn’t doing a “wag the dog”.

Now on the other hand, the fact that it appears we killed Iranians is GOOD.

WTF are Iranian forces doing in Syria?!? Who let these scumbags in? Just no! And if they’re around Damascus, well, that less than 50 miles from Israel. No, no, no. No Iranians. As bad as ISIS and need to be killed, every one of them.

The other point, and I can’t say this enough, is that on the global, strategic side, this is a huge victory for the US. It shows the world that:

A. Russia cannot protect you.

They may strike back in some way in the future, but they were powerless to prevent us attacking even after making a multitude of speeches warning us not to. That HAS to be on the minds of everyone, from Maduro in Venezuela to Fat Boy Kim in North Korea.

B. Trump is the strong horse. Cross him at your peril.

C. The intelligence we gather from the strike tells us all kinds of useful things.

a year ago this commander of :Jaysh-al-islam,you know the guys who put people in cages and use them for human shields, admitted to using gas at allepo.
Some think the same group is behind last weeks chlorine gas attack.

The historical take with Russia has always been they want a warm water port for their crude oil and Syria seemed to be the best culmination for their pipeline. We have videos of Russian tractor trailers moving poisonous gas into Syria just before Saddam was taken out, they are historical allies of Syria.

IT was also useful for Russia to befriend Iran since zero gave Iran so much money the ruskies figured they could swindle the mullahs out of some of it. Since, they both hate the great satan and that the Syrians are natural allies of the Iranians both being shia inclined so Russia befriended both. Both were and still are useful tools. Little changes in the Mideast. It's always about shia vs. sunnis an has been for centuries.

It's all BS but islam and its idiotic dictates rules the region. To ignore that is to ignore reality of the region.

I was, too until I guy deeper...yes, even some Anons shed some light...it diffused the deep state who want war by doing what they wanted, BUT, we hit Iranian assets, CIA-controlled assets, other items to keep all our forces at bay and no innocents killed...amazing sightedness, really.

I had similar reservations, but this really wasn't about chemical attacks. It was about sending a global message to our adversaries especially China, Iran, and NK that we will do what we say.

I watched Wallass and his interview with Nicky Haley. She did an outstanding job despite the stupid questions from Wallass. They are making a big deal about our lack of strategy and involvement in Syria. #NeverTrumper Goldberg (he revealed his wife works for Haley!) and other Trump haters like Lane blame a lack of strategy and not getting involved in stopping the slaughter.

Trump had a limited strike. It is encouraging to see that he has reduced significantly the import of Syrian refugees into the US, which Wallass tried to portray as a negative. Why haven't the countries in the region done more in that regard? We can't afford to be the world's policeman. Our national interests are paramount.

Trump is being attacked from all sides for his actions. IMO he did the right thing. It was significant but proportionate. We don't want to get involved in the Syrian civil war or the removal of Assad. Who knows who would replace him? A jihadi? Libya should be the lesson of what happens when you allow war rhetoric to replace sound judgement.

Did we hit an Aspirin factory /s or some Fluorine manufacturing facilities? Israel took out Assad's Russian build nuclear plant some years back.

And the positive side effect - the Russians and the Iranians cleared out. And in addition Assad's Russia provided missile defenses proved to be piss-pour.

If the Russian military equipment is any reflection on what a despotic Commie regime manufactures, the Chines best be worried.

I would suspect that the Chines military, while manned by Billions and Billions of kulaks, has real problems with their military technology for the same reason that any Commie dictatorship.

You pretend to pay me and I pretend to work

Just to add some comments to your post since you seem to want more reaction from me.

The Iranians and the Russians were invited into Syria by Assad, the recognized leader of the country and head of state. Assad appoints his ambassadors to Syrian embassies around the world and to the UN.

The real question is what are 2,000 uninvited US troops doing in Syria and why have we been bombing Syria since September 22, 2014. It started with bombing ISIS and evolved into bombing Syrian government targets. We violate Syrian airspace daily.

At the direction of U.S. President Barack Obama, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was put in charge of the operations, worth about $1 billion annually, to arm anti-government forces in Syria, an operation which formally began in 2013, more than two years after the start of the civil war in 2011. Prior to 2013, the CIA only supplied certain rebel groups of the Free Syrian Army with non-lethal aid, but later began providing training, funding, and intelligence to selected rebel commanders.

Targeting Iranians and Russians is not an endgame. It can only escalate our involvement there. I hope Trump has dumped regime-change as an objective. His instincts to get out are spot on.

Remember the assets Iran has had in Syria...we are leaving Iran’s mullahs as islands...Iran is next.
