The FBI should be state-centered, with a small role for Feds to integrate information and de-conflict ops.

A 4D chess move like that would be Trump-like - it would focus the public on the IG report and the cause of that move: the Obama-Clinton spectacular abuse of Fed power. (Someone notify Scott Adams.)

The FBI should be state-centered, with a small role for Feds to integrate information and de-conflict ops.

In the internet age, the need for a centralized agency like the FBI is reduced if not eliminated. Better to have many separate state agencies with the ability to share info. This sort of decentralized system would go a long way toward preventing corruption that tends to take root in agencies like the FBI where all power is given to them with little to no oversight. And in the case of the current FBI, that agency now openly thwarts any attempt at oversight.
