“So am I.

I just don’t see Syria attacking the United States any time soon.

ISIS maybe will.

And I think it is ISIS that Assad is fighting with.”

The problem is the GI’s Assad is responsible for killing with his sponsorship of Syrian and other Islamists fighting in Syria. That’s not water under the bridge. It’s probably the reason many policymakers would like to give him a nudge when he’s teetering.

I'll call BS on this statement.

Syrians fighting in Iraq during the American occupation were Sunni extremists carrying out suicide bombings against Iraqi Shia populations. These extremists were not sponsored by Assad but rather by the same people who sponsor Al Qaeda...and many of these extremists occupy leadership positions in the Sunni militias currently trying to topple the Syrian government.

In other words, these Sunni extremists have been allied with the Western globalist effort to effect regime change in Syria, and they have never been allied with the secular Alawite Syrian government.
