Big deal it was accomplished, just as the ships mission under Bush was accomplished. I think that's the whole point. Nobody wants actual war or victory anymore except abosolutist groups like ISIA. Trump campaigned to defeat ISIS. While he certainly stepped up the fight against ISIS with better rules of engagement, there's not much hope for a permanent victory. We have tlo be satisfied with symbols these days.

Using the “mission accomplished” line was a bad idea.
It was definitely one of Bush’s bonehead mistakes when he said that and I hope it doesn’t come back to bite Mr. Trump
