I moved to Central America right after Obama’s second election, but not BECAUSE of his election. I voted for Trump, and will again. I have been disparaged innumerable times, often on this forum, for that move. I’ve been called un-American, un-patriotic, a tax evader, a narco, even a child molester for my decision. None of those are true. I moved because half my family live here, and I’m in a better position to help them if needed from here than there.
I’m an American, and will always be American.
Contrary to the arrogant belief of some, people here are not frothing at the mouth to get into the United States. Most of those who are frantic to enter the US “paradise” are not the people you would want anyway, but they are the minority. I live in a beautiful rural setting among the Lenca/Maya people, and live much as they do, which would not suit the vast majority of Americans’ choice of lifestyle.
Please don’t berate ALL emigrants and expats merely for their choice to leave, not knowing their reasons and circumstances. Not all are raving leftist loons.
