We totally &#%&^#ed up in 1853 when Lincoln recklessly released a population of 3,000,000 freed slaves into a total population of about 20,000,000 entrepreneurial, adventurous, freedom loving, patriotic American citizens and just expected the slaves to take to America as a duck to water.

Good points. It just seems they took to the Rats’ bait pretty easily. Not like people inclined toward living otherwise. So many people of all stripes doing the same today.
