After being offered an opportunity to sing the national anthem before a Nevada minor league baseball game, a woman has decided to turn it down after learning that she cant bring her gun to the stadium.
Alishia Wolcott was picked by the Reno Aces to sing after she submitted an audition tape in March, she told Fox News.
But after she and her husband went to the stadium on Saturday to attend a game as spectators, they saw security included metal detector wands, which she claimed was a new measure this year.
"Upon walking up to the stadium we saw the normal bag checks, and past that were men stopping guests and using the wand metal detectors before entering the game, which was an action just implemented this baseball season," Wolcott said.
Wolcott, who has a Glock 43, 9mm pistol and obtained a concealed weapons permit in 2018, told the Reno Gazette Journal that she wanted to carry the weapon to games to protect herself.

You go girl!!
She should have sang anyway. Some facilities are not set up to search every ticket holder for everything without slowing the line way down.
Good for her. Very disappointing, as I just asked my boys if they wanted to go to an Aces game. We will now have to skip their games.
No, she did the right thing. While in Nevada all they can do is ask her to leave and if she doesnt have her charged with trespassing, the bigger point is that the baseball stadium is not providing security outside their gate, so therefore you have to walk to and from your car on those downtown city streets, unarmed without security. Unacceptable.
Our light rail in Denver has no weapons signs. Same situation. Not only are you unarmed on the train but to and from the train. Same with friends who work on federali property. Cannot even lock it in the car and put it on when leaving base. Federali and state gun laws are intentionally stupid and obviously not about safety.
Ps I ignore rtd signs in Denver.
Great decision. We must make public all of the “gun free” zones and not give those companies our money.

Every hospital and doctors offices have up NO GUN SIGNS. In TN if all they have is one of those downloaded signs in a plastic picture frame, not an official State issued 1, and NO armed Guard, it’s not Legal. Hospitals now a guard and have metal detectors up at ER’s. But not front entrances.
Thankfully I have a CCW purse.
