Former Vice President Dick Cheney praised President Trump's decision on Friday to pardon his former top aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, saying that Trump had "righted" a "wrongful conviction."

"Scooter Libby is one of the most capable, principled, and honorable men I have ever known," Cheney said in a statement. "He is innocent, and he and his family have suffered for years because of his wrongful conviction."

"I am grateful today that President Trump righted this wrong by issuing a full pardon to Scooter, and I am thrilled for Scooter and his family."

Sick country where this Libby guy is convicted on BS

Even sicker was the star status granted to the lying bitch Valerie Plame and her equally lying husband Jack Wilson............

Congratulations to Scooter Libby for finally receiving a FULL PRESIDENTIAL PARDON that he truly deserved.

He was thrown under the bus by his own party and President G.W. Bush in one of the most shameful acts of political cowardice I've ever seen.

Thank You President Trump!

Especially since if there was an outing, it was done by Armitage, but because he was a Bush critic, he got a free pass.

Your Boss at the time should have done it.

So thanks for nothing.

Libby was supposed to turn on Cheney - as Cohen, et al, are supposed to turn on Trump.

Rule of law = rule of Swamp.

The Libby trial is a case study of how any trial in front of a DC jury will go down. Libby had mixed up some dates during an FBI interview (not recorded). Libby’s defense attorney then cross-examined a dozen government and MSM witnesses on the stand and got them to mistakenly recall events with incorrect dates, people, or places just like Libby did (and often worse to the point of perjury). They got the FBI agent who had interviewed Libby tied up in knots with mis-statements.

The DC jury (95%+ Democrat voters) didn’t care and convicted him anyway.

Then it was revealed that the prosecutor (Fitzgerald) had known all along that the real leaker of Plame’s CIA employment was a Richard Armitage, a Democrat, and not anyone in the White House. He knew it before the trial even started.

But it didn’t matter. It was because Fitzgerald was determined to nail someone in the Bush Whitehouse on something, anything, and a process crime against Libby was the best they could muster. They knew a DC jury would rubberstamp anything put in front of them.

Cheney was a tough vice president.

He drew a large crowd years ago in ‘04 when he was campaigning in New Jersey for Bush-Cheney ‘04.

Exactly. I remember Cheney criticizing Bush for not pardoning Scouter. The whole investigation was a sham from the beginning as the prosecutor knew from the start who leaked Plamme’s name, Richard Armitage, yet Armitage was never criminally responsible. Trump did the right thing.

.
This is one of the most honorable actions President Trump has taken.

Now he needs to pardon Ramos and Compean, and restore their back pay and pensions.

Ugly must die!
