I would put Trump's peeved level at about 11. It's time to clean house at the DOJ. Starting with that backstabbing RAT BASTARD Jeff Sessions

This entire multiple year investigation was the result of leak and this guy lying about it. Think about what this investigation has cost the tax payer. And there isn’t even any real criminal penalty. In the end he will be getting most of his retirement benefits as well.

“Lying to the FBI is not a crime?”

apparently Not if you are the FBI. If you or I do it then it is a major crime.

This is why they are not afraid to lie all day long. Even to put in “The Fix” for cases where others will be penalized.

"Is there a law against “lacking candor”?"

People could try, you know, reading the document. At least partly. "Lack of Candor" is an actual internal FBI disciplinary offense, which includes not only lying but not being fully forthcoming.

This is an internal FBI investigation regarding an FBI disciplinary matter. It is not an indictment on criminal charges. If someone committed a crime they can also be charged, but that would be something separate.

From Trumps tweet:

“McCabe was totally controlled by Comey - McCabe is Comey!!”

Unfortunately this report in no way makes that case. IT makes Comey a victim of McCabe’s lies.

Wonder why IG dropped this on a Friday nearly close of business?

McCabe's op-ed piece from the wapo back in March: "I have been accused of “lack of candor.” That is not true. I did not knowingly mislead or lie to investigators. When asked about contacts with a reporter that were fully within my power to authorize as deputy director, and amid the chaos that surrounded me, I answered questions as completely and accurately as I could. And when I realized that some of my answers were not fully accurate or may have been misunderstood, I took the initiative to correct them. At worst, I was not clear in my responses, and because of what was going on around me may well have been confused and distracted — and for that I take full responsibility. But that is not a lack of candor. And under no circumstances could it ever serve as the basis for the very public and extended humiliation of my family and me that the administration, and the president personally, have engaged in over the past year."

“If someone committed a crime they can also be charged, but that would be something separate. “

Yeah, that would require a real AG. One who is not a deep-state compromised rat bastard.

Lack of candor? Is that anything like Federal felony?

The OIG report makes it crystal clear that over more than a year, on a variety of occasions, McCabe lied, deceived, and withheld information when answering questions, first from his superior (Comey), and then investigators within the FBI and then the OIG of the Dept of Justice.

When one reads the OIG report, it is all laid out blow by blow, that McCabe changed his stories. It all came crashing down because either he was lying or everyone else they were interviewing in the FBI was lying. In particular, his account is pitted directly against some statements from Comey. So, yes, for the moment the OIG report supports Comey on one specific issue vs. McCabe, but it is delicious to see McCabe and Comey end up pitted against each other. Comey, Page, Baker, and others all depict McCabe as lying about key aspects of their interactions with him and his “leaking” to the Wall St. Journal reporter.

HA HA HA HA...... nice to see McCabe exposed, even if this is such a limited set of issues (mainly about the WSJ article and the revelations of a sensitive conversation McCabe had in Aug. 2016 with a top official in the Dept of Justice.

There should be much more to come from the OIG (this report is only on one fairly narrow topic), so long as they really have followed through on the wider investigations.

“Lack of candor” within FBI personnel policies embraces both explicit lying and also various forms of deception, withholding of relevant information, allowing misunderstandings to persist, etc.

McCabe did all of the above. I don’t know what his legal status may be, but the OIG report definitely paints him as a thoroughly deceptive character who tried to throw Comey, his colleagues and subordinates, and even some of the investigators who interviewed him under the bus.

served only to advance McCabe's personal interests

Yes, you are correct, that is the key to this report. But it's worse than that, McCabe's personal interests were to cover up the fact that he actively spiked and sabotaged the Clinton Foundation investigation. Hence his leak to the WSJ reporter pretending that he was defending the CF investigation against DoJ who wanted to spike it. He lied to everyone in his role and about his role as Hillary's cabana boy.

No, he lied to a whole bunch of people about that leak. Lied to Comey, lied to various underlings and lied to the IG. He even accused underlings of being the leakers.

That’s it??? I thought the IG was also looking at Comey, Lynch, etc. for illegal spying on Trump’s campaign, fixing Hillary’s problems, etc. What happened with those issues?

"McCabe GoFundMe page.."

Nothing more than a PAYOFF BY DEEP STATE HACKS for McCabe to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT and take it 100% as the fall guy.

I guess the OVER HALF A MILLION $$$ PAYOFF from Hillary via 3rd parties to McCabe's wife wasn't enough.

James Comey
@Comey
Special Agent Andrew McCabe stood tall over the last 8 months, when small people were trying to tear down an institution we all depend on. He served with distinction for two decades. I wish Andy well. I also wish continued strength for the rest of the FBI. America needs you.
