Who wants to send in troops?
My point was NO more of our youth die or maimed for hopeless nation-building in the Islamic world. I believe McCain and some others have said maybe we should get more involved with "advisors" in country. I could be wrong, but my position stands that we just pull out and let Russia have their port.
THINK TRIDENT. They wouldn't dare attack us. They actually love their lives and those of their children. I know being 11 years Cold War sailor and being shadowed by Soviet vessels and having discussions with the E.O. on occasion.
I also once interacted with a Russian sailor who wound up in the wrong bar in Hong Kong after drinking too much. It was surprising how much he wanted to better his English and talk. We asked him what he thought of the cold war, he said "Nyet, no best. I [unintelligible] my family." I will always remember that moment.
