Ted Cruz HAMMERS Mark Zuckerberg for Facebook’s Anti-Conservative Bias COURTNEY KIRCHOFF TUESDAY APRIL 10 2018 Lemme give you an idea of how the Facebook hearing with Mark Zuckerberg has mostly bumbled along: imagine explaining how Facebook works to your grandmother. Alive or dead. That’s largely how the hearing is going. One 33-year-old guy telling a bunch of old farts how tech works. Painful.

Then Ted Cruz came up to bat:

Blah, blah, blah—What’s going to come of it?

Then Zuck and his team laughed in Cruz’s face immediately after.

This is all a distraction from what they are all doing to the duly elected President. They think they can shit can our President and then go back to business as usual with endless kabuki hearings. They will find out that they are dead wrong.

For the past few years, many individuals have given up critical thinking skills in favor of the addictive habit of believing they are getting factual news and reliable information almost hourly from the virtual "garbage can" called Facebook!

Facebook, from the beginning, seemed to fill the gossip gap that the back yard clothesline and ancient telephone party line facilitated in decades past--all the while providing a "superiority" complex for 50- and 60-somethings who discovered the new technology's snooping and virtual sniffing out of other people's lives ability provided by Zuckerberg.

For people inclined to gossip and snooping, Facebook is/was a treasure trove. Ever encountered a relative or individual whose every paragraph began with, "I saw on Facebook that . . . ?"

FB is in many ways the worst thing on the internet. Its defenders talk about how it’s connected or reconnected people, but it’s probably ruined as many if not more friendships(and marriages) as it’s created. It has created hell on earth for many teens not only due to bullying but also constant negative self-comparisons to the semi-fictitious lives they view on their peers’ pages. I say all this as someone who has profited from owning FB stock (though I quit the site myself after being on there briefly 10 years ago).

While Mark Zuckerberg is a smug, liberal jackass and I have little to no interest in using Facebook, pretty much every Senator questioning him has asked such naïve and uninformed questions from the standpoint of basic IT literacy (or even elementary knowledge about Facebook’s business model) that these whole proceedings will only make Zuckerberg look good and them look like idiots in the long run.

I would ask what people can do on Facebook. Then I would ask how much is costs to be a member and do all these wonderful things. When the response is “It's free!,” then I would ask “Then how does Facebook make any money?”

The explanation would be very interesting!

Ted Cruz I am so glad you came out in Trump’s defense of the illegal raid on his lawyer - oh, no, you didn’t actually DO that.
