In Missouri, state Attorney General Josh Hawley has disappointed in his Senate campaign debut, struggling to raise early cash, keeping a low-key schedule, and fending off scrutiny over his ties to scandal-plagued GOP Gov. Eric Greitens.

My fear on Hawley is that he isn't ready for prime time. He won the only election he ever entered - attorney general - two years ago. That's hardly a race that attracts a lot of national exposure. Well this one is different. Hawley is going to be national news, and the chance of him pulling a Todd Akin-like flub can't be discounted.

Mother McCaskill has $12 million cash on hand. Including $4 million so far this year! More on the way. Hollywood. Unions. Feminist groups. Usual suspects. And the fight has only begun...
