I recall some story of Kali DOT not using common sense on a snow-prone road into Nevada. They insist on using white paint for the lane markings, even though yellow has proven to be not only more effective with snow cover, but more durable as well.

Somebody must have a financial interest in titanium dioxide.

NV? They use yellow on their side of the state line on such roads.
