Missouri Sen. McCaskill faces a strong GOP challenger and Trump
NBC "News" ^ | April 9, 2018 | by Jonathan Allen

The Democrat's rival this time around is the state's attorney general — a young, polished, Stanford-and-Yale-educated former clerk to Chief Justice John Roberts.

Sen. Claire McCaskill needs another miracle.

The Missouri Democrat swept into office with a little less than 50 percent of the vote in the 2006 Democratic wave. Six years later, she provided an assist to a Republican rival during the primary and then defeated him in the general election after he said women's bodies have a way to "shut the whole thing down" if pregnancies are the result of "legitimate rape."

Now, in a year in which control of the Senate could turn on a single race, McCaskill is locked in what is sure to be one of the nastiest, most closely contested and expensive elections in the nation.

"Democrats like Claire McCaskill have basically abandoned their constituents," said Nick Meyers, the chairman of the Newton County GOP in the southwest corner of the state, citing her votes against Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, seven of Trump's Cabinet nominees, and his tax cut. "I don't think she will be able to make the issue something other than her voting record this time."

No, PA18 was a an anomaly. I think you are correct about the Senate, and we keep the House with a 10 vote edge.

Sounds about right. I do think the GOP will lose the Senate in 2020.

I am in Missouri. I think she will lose. Claire is not the brightest tool in the shed. Her record as Jackson County Prosecutor should have kept her from being elected to begin with. Cronyism at it’s worst. But then that is typical for the eGOP as well.

This guy we have running against her is bright, articulate and supports Trump. He needs our support.

And speaking of Missouri? How about that lying whore who accused Gov. Geitens of filming her nude and threatening her? She now says she may have dreamed the whole incident! So stated during depositions. Gov. G’s attorneys asking for dismissal of case.

I absolutely believe that the Greitens fiasco is a Dem operation to stick it to Josh Hawley and save granny McSkankills ass.

Granny is going down.

She’s uglier than Clinton.

She’ fat and old.

She flips and flops every election year so she can trick some new voters at home.

No, a hard core leftist like Harris will be their candidate.

I’m kind of ashamed to be within 50 miles of the dying corrupt dangerous City of St. Louis. It needs to finish dying so it can start over with better management. St. Louis, Columbia and KC are a problem.

With Greitens fighting, I hope the Rs in MO have learned from their capitulation on Todd Akin. And I hope Todd Akin learned something about overconfidence and shooting his mouth off.

Well,we do know George Soros gave Prosecutor Kim Gardner $200K in campaign contributions. First thing she did of notoriety after getting elected was go after Gov. Greitens via a Grand Jury. She has refused to answer Discovery and may have lied herself regarding exculpatory evidence. Greitens attorney had to file a Motion to Compel just to get her to comply with the law!

However, Mother McCaskill has $12 million $$ on hand and received $4 million so far this year. Hollywood, Progs, unions, and all the "usual suspects" lining up to push the old bag across the finish line. Lets hope they fail as they did with Hillary.

Soros gave her 200k eh? I hadn’t heard that, i’m slipping. Thanks!

I think that your hopes of a Hillary-esque implosion are justified; no one i’ve talked to, even some Dems, are on the Granny train. Here’s to hoping! =)

We are not going to lose the Senate in 2020! Not if Trump is running!
