True, even most rental cars are manual transmission. Last business trip to Germanistan I rented a sweet Mercedes stick shift. Fortunately I drive a manual car at home. Only terrifying part was the 2+ hours trip back to the Munich airport in early morning pea soup, yet all the vehicles on the autobahn still traveling at 140-160 kph or better...a white knuckle experience.
