100,000 California teenagers are now pre-registered to vote

California's effort to get 16- and 17-year-olds to pre-register to vote has now enlisted 100,000 teenagers, according to information released on Friday by Secretary of State Alex Padilla.

“This is a big milestone,” Padilla said. “I’m optimistic it’s going to translate into action at the ballot box.” The program, which began in the fall of 2016, automatically activates the teen’s registration at age 18. State officials reported that more than 10% of the total number of pre-registrations have come in just the last few weeks.

Padilla said there’s been a noticeable uptick in teenagers signing up following the mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school in February and last month’s nationwide protests over gun violence.

Feb 26,2008 “History Survey Stumps U.S. Teens” said the majority of surveyed 17 year olds failed to place WWII after the Civil War and thought Columbus sailed in 1750.

The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor and Columbus was a racist and a slave owner so it is now called Indigenous Peoples Day.

I think they have tried but they get their teeth kicked in on campuses by the leaders of the schools, student unions, etc by trying to ban them, protesting them, giving them little or no space for outreach, voter registration, prereg etc.

Democrats definitely have the massive numbers of volunteers to do outreach and go neighborhood to neighborhood getting new voters. They go into the hoods, the ghettos, where Repubs and Conservatives are unable to go do to the generational dem voting brain washing for the last 50 years.

The Electoral College, the brilliant foresight of our Founders! Just the situation that they sought to prevent by the law. 100,000 brainwashed or mind numbed robots voting for the likes of Moonbeam Brown.

As long as California doesn't change the age for voting or citizen status, that's a good thing.

The more California teenager citizens involved the better.

100,000 more California "citizens" getting involved the better.

Hopefully, they will hasten the demise of California into the void.

As for federal positions like POTUS and VPOTUS, Congress on the ballot, especially check them for proper vetting.

I think the voting age should be raised back to 21.

nationally. And only if the potential voter owns property.

Add to that the fact that California was found to have given out over a million drivers licenses to illegal aliens......

I'm convinced that the only reason Hillary was able to get over a million more votes than Trump in California was due to illegals being allowed to register to vote....

Columbus DID sail in 1750! But it was Harry Columbus, from Toledo, Ohio, that sailed down the Maumee River into Lake Erie. Obscure, fake but accurate?

History is the first course to be removed from studies because it is crucial to understanding how government was planned to operate.

In California they are pre-registered. They will be registered and they will vote in all elections, just as the illegals do.

Democrats love immature and uninformed voters who have never held a real job, paid taxes, or tried to support a family on the little bit of wages the government benevolently lets you keep.

How long before California openly declares that everyone should vote, regardless of age, citizenship or criminal status? Sanctuary cities may be just the beginning.

Not long now. Jill Stein was the pilot for this attitude. She wanted all possible votes to be counted, regardless of eligibility or fraud.

That will just go towards the Democrats advantage in the popular vote and nothing else.

Yes, as long as the Electoral College remains. But there's a sustained push to eliminate it so elections will be decided by a few populous liberal states. It's coming and we'd better fight it tooth and nail.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS OF A PROVISIONAL LICENSE? Every licensed driver under the age of 18 is subject to provisional restrictions. For the first 12 months, a driver must be accompanied by a licensed parent or guardian, an instructor or another licensed driver who is at least 25 years old, during the following situations: Carrying passengers who are 20 years old or younger Driving between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

So a driver under 18 in California is highly restricted, but the state is making it possible for under age voting to take place? Old enough to go on the voter rolls but not mature enough to drive alone.

CA leftists sign up 100k mush brain 16 & 17 yr old teens [no vetting of citizen or illegal status] and all get put on the voting rolls after their age 18 birthday? Considering fatalities for that age group, drugs, misadventures or car wrecks, maybe 1500 never reach 18 but the Dems can phony those votes for the next 50 years, plus the illegals get to vote dem too.

Yes, terrible manipulation. Now that our President Trump is hitting illegal immigration hard, the left/deep state is now, through the corrupt teacher’s/government unions, manipulating the children to vote for their causes. They need these children for future votes if the illegals are not there for them.

I just hope these children wake up in time to understand they are being manipulated, not for the benefit of their fellow Americans, but for teacher’s/government unions, their corrupt statist causes, and for the power they hold over their students.

Teachers and government unions need to be neutered because of the abuse of power like this.
