It is tragic that the mentally handicapped person is dead.
I do not throw rocks at police, it is a tough job. They do however make mistakes. At times costly mistakes.
Law enforcement like all government functions should be local as much as possible. Local in a big city is impossible.

You seem to have confused a discussion forum with a courtroom. We're not applying justice, we're discussing what appears to be a careless murder of a mentally deficient individual by cops who are empowered by their immunity to prosecution for acts that would get the rest of us serious jail time. Police should be held to a HIGHER standard than the rest of us, but in fact they aren't held to much of any standard other than what boils down to "it seemed to be the thing to do at the time."
