Annie needs to go a little easier on POTUS, but she does make some good points. Play a little "guess-that-politician" with some of the quotes at the end.

That’s what happens with multiculturalism. We don’t see each other as Americans anymore.

I have to laugh at these types of articles. These are the same people who are shocked when neighbors or strangers help someone during a flood or tornado.
America is basically good. Its people are generous and caring.
Too many of these commentators have to stop reading their own crap.

Once upon a time, we cared about the welfare of our fellow Americans. Farmers in the Midwest devastated by tornadoes, trailer parks washed away in a Florida hurricane, our country's ranking on various international comparisons -- we all rooted for our fellow Americans. Like all countries, we would squabble, but we were family. We were all Americans.Maybe Ann wasn't paying attention and missed the loving response of millions of ordinary Americans to the catastrophes that hit TX, FL and PR last year. It's a shame because they were great demonstrations of the greatness of the American People.

Seems to me she is attempting to use the Progressive’s own meme against them.
“We used to care about each other” is an often used meme to push the welfare state, IMHO.

The #1 problem in this country are the MORONS who keep electing and reeelecting Rats and RINOs. PERIOD.
To: scottinoc
Yeah, other than the rip on Trump, she has a very good point. The only way for the left to settle this hypocrisy is to either say they themselves were all racist a few years ago, or admit that their policies now are anti-american. There is no other way to bring these two lines of thought into sanity.

Ann should STFU.
She doesn’t need to “go a little bit easier” on POTUS Trump, she needs to shut her yap.
She intelligence has gotten so warped that any potential nugget of rational thought is poisoned by her malignant attitude towards Trump.
She’s in it for herself and herself alone. And I bought two of her books, I used to like what she said. NO MORE!

Ann's been one of the most acerbic divisive figures on the political stage for years. For her to be pulling a Kumbaya at this point is likely more a result of an increase in her own irrelevance than it is any change of heart.

Oh BS, Ann. This is just her usual contrarian crap to sell books and articles. At least outside the beltway and elite circles. People in Trump country still care about one another and examples can be found every day.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave." One would think that a very common sense and ultimately saying argument. So why have we had to fight our government - our own frigging government! - to do something about illegal immigration? For over thirty years!
