Colossally bad idea.
“hoping to judge if a man-made chemical sunshade would be less risky than a harmful rise in global temperatures. “
Hysterical——there is a town in northern Norway that uses mirrors to CREATE sunshine.
.
Collassally stupid article.
So Senegal is going to invest and develop methods to “block the sun?”
Just sheer stupidity.
I see the plot for a SciFi channel movie in this.
Unless they develop a way to block or divert the sun’s rays at a great distance from earth (like a million miles away) there is little to be gained.
Blocking the sun’s rays close to earth will still allow the energy of the sun to strike, be absorbed into, and create heat within the geosphere (ie: everything within the geo-magnetosphere).
In that case the heat not created by the sun’s rays no longer striking the earth’s land or water or atmosphere will be created in some other layer of the biosphere where the rays are being blocked.
And no one knows what unforseen consequences and damage that would create.
I’m sure that would not result in any unintended consequences. That is because it comes from the “settled science crowd” and they have been proven right soooo many times already.
Waste of time. They need to concentrate on developing a thermostat for the sun. Turn it up in winter, down in summer.
Will also need to correct the problematic earth axis tilt for better consistency between hemispheres.
There! All problems solved!
Chapter One: Let's do it! Why Not?
Chapter Two: How Was I to Know?
So now the war on energy has reached the solar stage! How does this new concept fit in with the use of Solar panels for non-carbon fuel energy?
