Walker warns GOP 'at risk of a #BlueWave' after Democratic win in Wisconsin court race

... Walker, who is up for re-election to a third term next fall, tweeted that the results were another sign that the GOP is in trouble.

"Tonight's results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI. The Far Left is driven by anger & hatred -- we must counter it with optimism & organization. Let's share our positive story with voters & win in November," he tweeted.

In another tweet, Walker added, "Big government special interests flooded Wisconsin with distorted facts & misinformation. Next, they'll target me and work to undo our bold reforms. We need to keep moving #WIForward & make sure a #BlueWave of outside special interest money doesn't take us backward."

Point number one: Democrats run deceptive and dastardly campaigns. Point number two: Republicans better get off their rear-ends and get to the polls.

Losing a race in Wisconsin is similar to losing a race in Minnesota or Massachusetts. Now if a race is lost in a typical red state, then it’s time to worry.

We have been consistently winning tough races in Wisconsin for some years now, electing and reelecting Scott Walker and taking control of the legislature. Trump winning in Wisconsin was merely the most recent win, not the cause of the realignment. Yesterday, Democrats won a judicial race handily. It's clear that their intensity and turnout is very high. This is going to be true across the board this fall.

We need a God sized fix. Bigger than any constitutional detail.

Foxconn is not popular. That’s the way it is right or wrong.

I know the Republicans are not strong on the issues, but it is critical to keep power out of the hands of Democrats this fall. The Republicans are stronger on the issues with this president being in office. The vitriol against him on the left is disturbing, and more is at stake in November than spending.

The defeat in Wisconsin should not be dismissed as nothing. Court races are critical because judicial decisions are difficult to overturn in the legislature. Now Democrats have an additional leftist on the court who can rule against fighting vote fraud. People need to vote regardless of how inconvenient it is. Virginia can be considered lost in 2020 because people refused to vote for the Republican and handed power to Democrats for vote fraud and legalizing more felons to prevent a Republican from winning.

I agree we must seek the Lord. We also must get out the vote. If we do not vote because we are apathetic or use the reasoning that both parties have no differences (untrue), we are squandering opportunities the Lord is giving us to elect righteous (or at least not opposed to righteous) stances on the issues. The Lord is giving us opportunities to show where our hearts are.

We have perhaps one more election until the left can gain a total dictatorship. I urge those reading this post to read about communism. The warnings are plain that the left is no longer liberal but intolerant and violent. Giving the Democrats the House doesn’t serve as a warning to Republicans, it takes more of our rights and puts the nation under unrighteous leadership. It also squanders the freedoms that Americans died protecting.

The Lord has blessed us with a form of government where we can select our leadership. We can participate in politics and vote, but we do not take advantage of these opportunities. It’s easier to think we have more important things to do or that we have jobs, and while I understand because I work, too, we won’t have jobs if the left regains power.

Yesterday we had heavy snow. There are 6 inches outside my door at the moment, even though my husband shoveled off a couple earlier yesterday so we could navigate the homestead. Thee is even more snow in other areas.

Other elections: school board: 3 candidates for 3 seats. Some unopposed positions. ONE liberal Supreme Court judge (a conservative court with a conservative Chief Justice) does not flip a state.

Walker is great. He’s survived more than a couple of recalls and years of prog retaliation for voter ID, Right To Work and lower taxes. Each time, the progs declared victory before the fact. Each time, they mobilized their people into the streets. Each time, they lost. Yes, there are lawsuits against voter ID. Voter ID lawsuits have been overturned everywhere and Voter ID continues to expand.

Yesterday was weather-related. I see and hear raw anger and disgust for the progs daily. People will turn out when it counts. I’m waiting for the final DHS voter maps from 2016 to finally be released. I saw the preliminary one and even my blue county (so-called *official* results) was mostly red, in reality.

Walker is being motivational, IMO.

This. ^^

That is what I saw in Wisconsin. I don't think people here are helping by being dismissive. There is a trend now that is happening. Democrats are super motivated by anger, hatred, revenge, whatever.

Like it or not, believe it or not, Democrats have their base whipped into a frenzy right now and the snowstorm across the state could not dampen the droves of drones who came out yesterday. The media, the Clinton resistance thing, the MeToo thing all has these people beside themselves and spring-loaded ready and waiting to vote.

I would be very curious to see the female turnout numbers in this race.

Why are Republicans panicking over these special elections.
**************
Better to run scared than complacent. They need to get into permanent campaign mode, forgetting everything else but church, family, and jobs — because the left is waging war.

Do they not remember that Dems lost a thousand seats over the course of 6 years?

Barack Obama lost them - and the media has been carefully hiding him, lately.

How about we repeal the 17th, at the same time adding another - term limits for congress. Our founders had no intention of providing a vocation for these congress critters. They arrive in DC and become squatters the rest of their lives. If we do nothing, nothing will change.

Our President Trump is deserving of all the help we might give him.

They are worried because the internal polling is rather bleak. Not to mention the demographics.

Trump won not as a Republican, but as Trump. The GOP brand is damaged. Enough so that mid terms will be interesting, and Trump will be fighting impeachment come January.

I agree that Walker is probably just trying to motivate the right. Snow would not have been the only factor. From several states away and less than 10 minutes of research:

(1) the conservative candidate (Michael Screnock) does not even have a wikipedia page . . . who the heck was running his campaign?

(2) Screnock graduated from law school in 2006, was a lawyer in private practice until appointed judge in a county with a population of 55,225 in 2015, and won reelection once (unopposed).

Even if conservatives viewed Rebecca Dallet as “disqualified” by openly liberal views, she had experience as a clerk for a U.S. Magistrate Judge, an assistant U.S. Attorney, assistant district attorney, and as an adjunct professor at Marquette’s law school. Moreover, she had been a Judge in Milwaukee since 2008 (two years before Screnock graduated from law school), twice winning elections in a County that has more people than dairy cows.

Baraboo may be fun to say, but it is not the type of city that would provide Screnock a great base of voters for state-wide office.

Special elections are often the worst political barometers. Attendance is usually worse than primaries and primaries are most often less attended than general elections.

Walker’s a joke—well, nationally. Maybe he’s okay in Wisconsin but he and friends Priebus and Ryan are all losers. Besides, I remember Walker’s tweets a few years ago. Embarrassing. Maybe a good Dem sweep of the state is needed to get rid of Ryan, then let some real Trump Republicans take over in the next cycle.
