Sessions received lots of affirmations on RR by DOJ Obama swamp holdovers. As a DOJ newbie on the scene, he had to shift the spotlight off of Yates, so he nodded to RR without knowing RR was part of the toxic culture.
Gorelick simply chimed in that Sessions ‘did the right thing’ which was to install their swamp player.
Sessions chose Rosenstein as his DAG and it wasn’t by chance. This whole installment of deep-state Obama stooge rat bastards at the top of the DOJ did not happen by chance.
