I used to be disgusted with Sessions too. But there is the possibility that he is deliberately looking like a screw up in order to hide a major sting. By doing this he would keep the MSM off the scent of what could really be going on. Also the democrats don’t get a chance to attack every aspect of such a sting before all the evidence is gathered and charges filed. They might even be really surprised. Call it a good game of chess. That narrative, unfortunately, is certainly a gaslighting trope intended to keep Trump supporters morale up for the midterms.
The GOP don’t support Trump. They don’t want his MAGA agenda to proceed. Therefore, their will not be an aggressive prosecution of Fisagate because that will help Trump advance MAGA. That’s the LAST thing the GOP wants right now.
