Former US President Bill Clinton admitted Tuesday that he intervened in the Israeli elections in 1996 to help then-Prime Minister Shimon Peres defeat rival Binyamin Netanyahu.

"It would be fair to say that I tried to help Peres win the elections, and I tried to help him in such a way that I would not be openly involved," Clinton said in an interview with Israel's Channel 10 News.

It was so obvious back then so it isn't news now. What happened then and since then is that every time Israel holds a national election, Democratic political operatives from the US are sent to Israel to organize for the left-leaning Israeli candidate whom they think has a chance of winning the Israeli election. It happens regardless of whether the Democrats hold the White House.

All of these shenanigans are an insult to Israel and her autonomy as a democratic (small "d") nation.

And now that their favorite evil harpy lost despite all the lies and fake polling, they are crying foul based on a made-up phony story about Russia, as if they and the candidates they backed were not in bed together, and as if the burden is on Trump to prove a negative. I’ll bet they’ve done this in other elections in other countries so often they’ve lost count.
