Great leadership by the Captain of the ship. What incompetence. Who christens a ship in Buffalo, NY in December? That is the boneheaded move that is the issue with this.

Who christens a ship in Buffalo, NY in December? The ship had just finished construction and trials in Lake Michigan. It stopped in Buffalo for commissioning next to its museum-ship namesake. As it turned out, it wasn't going to get out of the Great Lakes in time to make it up the St. Lawrence anyway.
