Sometimes you imagine the whole thing as a parade down Main St. in Stupidville, with floats and marching bands and a new grand marshal every time there is a new political controversy in America.
This isn't necessarily about Republicans or Democrats, red states or blue states or conservatives or liberals. It is about people in this country who not only pay attention to muttonheads like Ted Nugent, but somehow see him as their voice. Or conscience.
Nugent, a National Rifle Association board member and B-list singer, is another gun-lover threatened by the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people, almost all of them students, were murdered on Valentine's Day.
So Nugent, running to be mayor of Stupidville this week, is another who attacks the victims as those victims continue to be part of an uprising for gun sanity. It is the way elected officials are supposed to rise up, but can't, for fear of hitting their heads on the desks under which they're hiding.
In case you missed it, here is what Nugent, speaking to radio program The Joe Pags Show, said about the survivors of Parkland, who clearly are scaring a rough and tough big talker like him half to death:
"The dumbing down of America is manifested in the cultural deprivation of our academia that have taught these kids the lies, media that have prodded and encouraged and provided these kids lies. I really feel sorry for them because it's not only ignorant and dangerously stupid, but it's also soulless."
In fairness to Nugent, he does seem to know quite a bit about the dumbing down of America, as he once wrote lyrics like these for a song of his called "Jailbait":

Ted never apologizes. Mostly he just doubles down.

You do make a very good point.
This fool writer sounds like the very product of Academia, of which Nugent was referring.
Today’s college = “Stupidville”
Go Ted!
Kill it and Grill it!
When I get old I’m going down the trail and the wolves can have me.
Hope you choke on it Lupica
I hope that’s why we can post their drivel, and not infowars.
Mike Lupica the famous plagiarist
Mike Stupika used to pretend to be a sports writer.
Mike Lupica is David Hogg after he grows up, which he probably won’t.
Lupica is also a silly little pansy who thrills the Morning Joe set, on air ‘talent’ and the Upper West Side viewers in general.
Finally Mike Lupica is a guy who will find himself begging for his last tea-bagging breath when the ferals and aliens and mobs in general decide the posh apartments and office towers belong to them as much as to any gun-less, gutless, nutless, jock-sniffing fairy.
Thank you for posting the Leftist Propaganda. It’s what FR was created for.
Hey Mike,
Uncle Ted has chunks of people like you in his crap.
Love,

Uh, a journalist takes upon itself great risks by calling anyone stupid. Except perhaps for Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota boy and John McDork.
Michael Lupica is an American newspaper columnist, best known for his provocative commentary on sports in the New York Daily News and his appearances on ESPN.
Stick to sports stupid.

Did this guy play football? He seems to exhibit signs of some kind of tramatic brain injury.
“...and B-list singer...”
Let’s see. SEVEN double platinum albums and another couple of gold albums. Thirty million albums sold and recognition as one of the great rock guitarists of all time.
Anybody remember who played at the last anti-2nd Amendment rally?
