You don't seem to understand: the GOP is about NOTHING that it says it is about. This is why they always backstab their base, this is why despite the majorities they've had in the past 20 years in the legislature they continue to incur debt, why the continue to allow injustice and corruption, why they have done nothing about border-security, why they have done nothing about the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc.

It's not R vs D, it's really elites vs common-man.
