The real question is whether the DOJ and FBI can investigate itself along with the other agencies involved in all of this, e.g., State, CIA, NSA, DIA, NSC, etc.

McCarthy does get into that & seems to think they can do such an investigation - I guess we’ll find out if he’s right or not ..... a Special Counsel isn’t ruled out/off the table.
McCarthy is also a former DOJ official. He comes with his own institutional biases.
