If youre ignorant enough to be hitting the pipe, I cant feel sorry for you when something bad happens. Dont do the crime if you cant do the time.
I've never been a hard drug user, so I don't know all the ins and outs of how one becomes an addict, but your comment seems a bit soulless. This isn't a guy who got his license revoked, or got sent to prison or the hospital. This guy is dead. And I bet he never meant for things to go this far.
I did know a guy that had suffered a serious injury in college, had a couple of screws holding various important bones together, and had started out with a permanent Vicodin prescription. Eventually, the Vicodin did nothing for him, but he was hooked. When I knew him, he used to pop Vicodin like candy, drink heavily, and smoke MJ if he had it, but still managed to maintain employment with a top tech company. He did hang with a weird crowd, though, and I came to find out later, from a mutual friend that this weird crowd was all drug addicts, also all professional men, and that my friend had resorted to shooting up at some point to get his pain relief. God knows what else he had been doing by that point. He was otherwise a good guy, though, and if he were found dead one day due to laced whatever, it would be a real tragedy.
Happy ending to his story though: last I heard of him, he had quit all drugs after finding Jesus. He was never a religious guy so I wondered how such a thing could happen. Turns out he became a true believer when, according to him, Jesus healed his injury, and he didn't need the drugs anymore.

Amen to your friend’s miracle and becoming saved.
