“Chappaquiddick” tells the story of a relatively unknown scandal involving one of the most glorified families in American history: the Kennedys. So, it is not surprising that the cast, executive producers, and director felt some nerves taking on the project.
For Byron Allen, Entertainment Studios CEO and co-founder and executive producer of the film, the pushback to tell this story came when he first decided to produce the film. “Unfortunately, there are some very powerful people who tried to put pressure on me not to release this movie,” Allen said. “They went out of their way to try and influence me in a negative way. I made it very clear that I’m not about the right, I’m not about the left. I’m about the truth.”
The movie tells the story of what occurred in 1969 when Senator Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island in Martha’s Vineyard and the passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, was killed. At the Beverly Hills premiere and screening of the film at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, Allen referred to Kopechne as “one of the original #MeToo victims” and said it was her time to receive justice and the truth.

I remember seeing it and laughing my head off. I may still have that issue in the attic somewhere.
“The Kennedy Curse,” is a book y’all should read. The whole family were crooks and liars as well as killers. Cannot imagine why Kennedy was elected prez, proved his incompetance daily and is still glorified. He was an immoral scoundrel and should get zero votes from anyone for “popularity.” Or maybe, he was only popular with scores of whores that his bodyguards imported for him for use in the WH.

No, I think because I had won the previous year, they wanted to honor others. I think we did get a bit original however the next year when we went as my mother and father. My wife didn’t like smoking the pipe but the Quik Trip staff where we stopped our for gas about had a heart attack when they saw the six foot blond with a wrap around skirt and a mustache.

He was also primarily responsible for changes in the immigration laws that have been damaging the country for over 50 years.
Phony pressure. Release the Chappaquiddick movie back when the Kennedys are still alive. That is pressure.
Today, now, is fake.
We need a movement to demand that he reveal who all of these “powerful people” are and exactly what was said, offered, threatened, etc. It is not enough to tell the public that there is such an ongoing cover-up even NOW, 4 decades later. The public needs to know about WHO is continuing the cover-up.

When I lived in Simi Valley, Teddy was speaking at the Reagan Library for some reason I can’t recall. I made a big sign on my accordion-folding cutting board. It said:
“Teddy K.
Murderer
Traitor”
Then I stood at the corner of the road up to the Library and held it for when he passed by. (I got a dirty look from Nancy R. when her car went by.) Other protesters were on the corner with me, but they thought my sign was too “out there”, so they told their kids not to look, and they dragged them over to another corner. LOL!

In this era of social media, a few videos or tweets here and there will get the truth out in less than a day.
