That it is such a sickening tale may have something to do with the poor reporting.
And, yes, protecting Social Services may too.
\A long time ago this would have less details- if it was reported in respectable media at all.
Both the reporter and the police representative could not have sounded more disinterested in this crime.
It's like they were reporting something that happens every day; like a lost dog story.
And the lack of curiosity and details by the reporter is mind-boggling.
