By most standard political metrics, U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, R-Ballwin, should be able to safely count on re-election to a fourth term in November.
But at least four Democrats are banking on this not being a standard political year, with a historically unpopular Republican president, an even less popular Republican Congress and Wagner tied to both.

No way is Wagner losing. This is Post-Disgrace wishful thinking.

Will win easily.
I think Trump is doing quite well in the polls.
The more, the merrier. Multiple candidates dilute the opposition.
They say that demographics may be changing in affluent St. Charles.
I see Wagner winning by 10 points.
I wonder how these Dems running for office in the middle of the country are gonna cover up and lie about the fact their party wants to ban all guns. They keep this talk up theyll see a wave election for sure. Only that wave will wipe them out!
If the demo has changed; i certainly wasn’t aware from what i’ve seen. Maybe in the city of St. Charles, but even there i haven’t seen the footprint.
St. Charles county is Trump country. 10 points easy. If not, we’ll start to see flight to the west. ;)

Wish I could care. RINO.
Spreading your hate and discontent as always, I see. Let me educate you a little, junior:
Ann Wagner does not represent St Charles County. She represents the 2nd District which is south and west St Louis suburbs.
St Charles county is in the 3rd District represented by Blaine Luetkemeyer. It extends as far west as Jeff City and then south to Osage Beach.
So go peddle your anti-Republican garbage somewhere else. Ann Wagner is in no danger. And no, St Charles county remains the reddest county in Missouri and it's not changing.
I have visited Wagner’s district. I know the St. Louis suburbs.
Some areas are close to St. Charles.
However, it was a good discussion.
“”with a historically unpopular Republican president””
maybe with HATE MEDIA, but not with the voters.
“maybe with HATE MEDIA, but not with the voters.”
Yup, if the MSM would stop cooking the polls we would get a chance to see the real numbers.
The Blue Wave, while conceivable, is largely a media-DNC psy-op designed to discourage GOP turnout and enthusiasm by designating the Blue Wave as inevitable. Like Hillary’s victory in 2016.
Historically “unpopular” president?
Didn’t I hear that Trump’s approval rating is six points higher than Obama’s at this point in HIS presidency?
Most of St. Charles County is part (not all) of Blaine Luetkemeyer's 3rd District.
Historically unpopular? Nonsense.
I live in a part of St. Louis County that has gone back and forth between the 2nd and 1st District, with the last redistricting putting me back in the 2nd.
Based on the last three elections, about 38% of St. Charles County voters are in the 2nd District and 62% are in the 3rd District. Wagner and Luetkemeyer did equally well in 2016, with each receiving about 63% of the vote, and both did even better in 2014.
Wagner does not do as well in St. Louis and Jefferson Counties, but still has always received the majority of votes in each county. In each of her three elections to the house, her overall margin over her Democrat opponent has never been less than 20%.
Based on this history, it would take a huge wave to upset her in 2018.

I think this mid term election is going to be different than most.
For one thing the dems have no message that resonates with average America.
They are still pounding Russia! Russia! Russia! but they have nothing to show for all their investigating. None of their smear campaigns are working.
Their over the top defence of illegals and their gun grabbing rhetoric on the caskets of dead teenagers is opening the eyes of many people. Enough? Not sure.
President Trump isn’t a politician, he is a businessman. America knew it was electing a flawed man, as many of us are flawed. The usual gimmicks won’t work against him.
The economy is improving and people are confident.
His foreign policy is effective. If he meets with Kim Jong Un and actually gets something solid he probably wins the mid terms right there.
If republicans are smart, and that is debatable, they run on his record and mop up in November.
This election is the pubbies to lose IMHO.
(Democrats) “With hopes of ‘wave election,”
