The author says this would be the first time the question was asked since the 1950's. My understanding was that it was asked every census until Obama deleted it in 2010.
Irrespective, it doesn't bother me that illegal immigrants might be undercounted. They shouldn't be counted at all because they shouldn't be here.
And I thought the leftist talking point was that illegal immigrants DO NOT get government assistance. That being the case, how can they now argue that they should be counted in determining how much government assistance a particular locale gets?
Americans think it’s a great idea.
Only the liberals are complaining.
Most Americans are proud to say that they are American. Foreign freeloaders milking the American taxpayers, not so much.
This is the second article I’ve read here today that noted that the libs claim this is a bad idea because it will cause them to lose “funding”. It isn’t about illegal aliens, it’s about MONEY.
Since California declared itself a sanctuary state, the Citizenship Question must be asked to ensure that they are allocated the correct number of Electors. They all but admitted that they housed a high number of non-citizens.
Maybe we should ask if members of the household are from Cuba or hold Cuban citizenship, even if dated? Then, deport their butts back to Cuba and them fix their country instead of mess up ours. Just think how much nicer Florida would be if rid of their Cuban guests.
Actually, I think the illegals will just lie about it. And the pork-guzzlers who tally and assemble the results will be only too happy to back up their lies, so as to show more citizens in their areas.
What illegal is going to say he’s not a citizen? The Census will demonstrate that there are no illegals in the US.
According to the libs, the illegal immigrants foster economic growth, so they pay for themselves. That being the case, I don’t see why the federal taxpayer should pick up the bill for their government assistance. Let the CA taxpayer do so. They are the ones getting the so-called economic benefits.
Foam Boy is trying to look like he sides with the citizens and the rule of law.
In 2013 he tried to make citizens out of illegal aliens.
If they lie, then they’ve committed a crime. Should make it easier to deport them.
Illegals lie on social security numbers by using stolen numbers.
And they lie for getting food stamps and other welfare benefits.
Why would they not lie on the census questionnaire?
Think about this...so if they come up with 2 million people that are living in CA are illegal aliens, then maybe they lose 2-4 Congressional seats. Seats normally gerrymandered to be democrap.
Watching the debates on FNC on this and Dems specific argument is that the constitution calls for a count of all residents (legal and illegal) and adding this question will scare the non-citizens, legal and illegal, from responding to the census.
That suppression will hurt amnesty states in getting house member districts.
I smile at this. My census entry is disqualified each time because I cannot establish an ethnicity and my kids can’t either because of me. My father was adopted and we do not know who the parents were as records from the 1920’s were incomplete. If I do a check on a tracking company it will show my adopted grandparents and not his real parents. So each year, I leave this one blank and a few times they have come to my house to find out why and try to get me to commit to a race. And when I didn’t, they told me they couldn’t count me. Okay, so what. I’m here, I was born in this country, I am a citizen by birth and have never changed that....count me. But they claim the form is incomplete and can’t be finished so it isn’t counted. Government thinking, again.

That's what the liberals are trying to say to scare people but it's illegal for the Census Bureau to share any personal information with other agencies.
Agreed. After the Census is completed, and Californians refused to comply, they should be reduced to 1 Representative and 3 Electoral College votes.
Illegals should be living in fear every day.
There are DNA tests at Ancestry.com, which help define ethnic background, and will connect you to living relatives who share those same DNA markers. Here is a link:
The living relatives would be a good place to see, if there are shared physical characteristics with your DAD, or maybe pics of other ancestors that will clear up mystery.
There are some claims that DNA tests aren’t accurate, however that would seem like those fly by night labs. Ancestry.com can trace your family back as far as you have information, DNA being a part of that. Best wishes.
