Guest host Katy Tur asked Perez shouldn't it matter who is a citizen of this country, in terms of representation, and who is not.
Perez said trying to figure out who and who is not a citizen is a "scare tactic" and called it "voter suppression" to only county U.S. citizens in the census. He said not counting non-citizens will hurt "funding formulas."

They want to change it to count the number of U.S. citizens so that they can engage in very not subtle voter suppression. That is illegal and that is totally inconsistent with what the north star of the census in Republican and Democratic administration has been.
It's been about accuracy. That's why you see folks from the Bush administration and other Republicans who are calling out this complete overreach. I mean Donald Trump before this announcement was made was already fund raising off of this.
This is just another divide-and-conquer effort. This is a first cousin of this voter I.D. law to make sure that African-Americans and Latinos can't vote. This is not who we are as a nation. This is not why people died for the passage of the Voting Rights Act.

The REAL “voter suppression” is that OUR votes are actually counted at 80% because the Dems support illegals voting at all every corner. WE are the suppressed people every time an illegal votes. Republicans need to throw that at the GD Dems whenever they make utterly stupid and outlandish statements like this.

It’s clear the lib cities want illegals to show up as citizens for purposes of House seats and federal benefits. As Trump noted that violates the Voting Rights Act. Trumps proposal does count illegals - it just doesn’t count them as citizens.
Maybe we could compromise and count illegals as 3/5 of a person.........

Democrats are very much concerned about illegal votes. Without them their reprospects for returning to power are considerably weaker.
Non-citizens aren’t necessarily illegals. Many are here legally under various types of visas.

The Dems (and some Republicans), keep saying that there are 11-12 million illegals in the country. They’ve been saying that for decades, as if it is a static number. Everyone knows it’s much more than that. Every time you hear someone site that number, you know they don’t know what they’re talking about.
It would only be a lie if Perez was concerned with legal voting by citizens - which he OBVIOUSLY is not.
Since he is concerned with "suppression" of the illegal voting by non-citizens that the Democrats have become dependent on, this is the truest confession, on the subject, possible from a Democrat.
Too bad it will not only be covered up by liberal/leftwing politicians and media, but also ignored by the naive or cowardly on the right.

The truth is that when people are honestly questioned the numbers shake out to be about 2/3rds agreeing with us. The remaining 1/3rd are hard core leftists.
There is about 16% of the vote that is made up of the easily swayed who if they really thought about it they would vote contrary to the leftists. For example, Latinos are personally pro-life however they tend to vote democratic, until they begin to pay attention. There have been elections in Texas where when the abortion issue was correctly addressed, meaning the dem was outed for wanting little babies to be aborted, the Republicans were very successful.
Perez is a voice that is working to clarify what people think. Which can be a boon to us.
