'State law is state law. And it is my job to enforce state law.'

But federal law isn't federal law? Isn't it the job of ICE to enforce federal law?

I wish the Feds would start arresting these obstructionists. Especially now that THEY want to arrest their own people for cooperating with federal law.

The correct question is which law takes precedence when State and Federal laws conflict. The answer is right there in the United States (not the California) Constitution:

The Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution (Article VI, Clause 2) establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the supreme law of the land. ... Even state constitutions are subordinate to federal law.

Don't expect consistency from the left.

As a matter of fact, we have several supreme court cases where states and local jurisdictions were told that they COULDN'T meddle in federal immigration issues. Now this Communist AG is saying he can?
